ORB BACKGROUND

If manifestations such as orbs and ghost lights are as intelligent as their actions often indicate, just what are they and what is their purpose?

We have stories reaching back over 2000 years equating these mysterious ‘balls of light’ with discarnate spirits and more elemental spirits that we label nature spirits – the Devas, Elves and the Faeries.

The manipulation of glowing luminescent balls of light are understood by some experiencers as being a mode of transportation utilized by angelics and spirit guides.  These benevolent beings may take forms as globes of light before fully materializing in our physical dimension. Some have conjectured (Brad Steiger) that these orbs are themselves an intelligence that can manifest a physical appearance that is compatible with the level of understanding of individual witnesses.

ARE ORBS INTERDIMENSIONAL VEHICLES FOR THE SOUL?

In his e-book COLORS OF THE SOUL and COLORS OF THE WEB, author George Michael  states that when people come into contact with true orbs, they are witnessing interdimensional vehicles, known to the Egyptians as “Sun Boats” and referred to in the Old Testament as “Merkabah”.   In schools of Jewish mysticism, including Kaballah, the Merkabah (Merkavah) is the Divine Throne Chariot described in the prophet Ezekiel’s mystical experience and is associated with the heavenly realms. 

 In George Michael’s view, the orb/Merkabah is a “soul conveyance” for earthbound souls within this physical realm.

Authentic orbs, according to Michael, can be senses and/or heard.  The sound they make is super-high tone, chiefly heard within the head, beyond normal hearing spectrums.  Many individuals who have encountered these ‘true orbs’ have experienced the orb speaking telepathically to them.

According to Michael, orbs can assume many appearances, including globes, globules, balls of light, and hovering round balls, and they range in degrees of illumination from bright and glowing to dull and barely visible.  There is great diversity among the erratic, fast moving objects, Michael states, because there are many different types of orb phenomena. Some may even be life forms alien to this realm. The human spirit or ghost type, he says, is usually seen at about eye-level to about ceiling height and is often filmed in haunted locations.  The human spirit type may appear larger than some of the other types of orbs (animal spirits) which appear smaller and more condensed. Another type of orb is used in conjunction with electromagnetic vehicles that shield the interdimensional beings inside, as well as serving as a means of propulsion. 

Although on occasion these orbs are seen at eye-level, they are primarily seen in the sky because of their higher dimensional level of existence.

Michael also believes that there is a type of orb that may be considered a spiritual aspect of extraterrestrial intelligence, much like the human spirit orbs are an aspect of us.  Such orbs often have a more detailed and complex appearance, which may at times contain figures or faces.

Glowing balls of light with various hues of color have come to be called ‘orbs’ and they are seldom viewed by either photographers or subjects until they appear on the developed film.

Orbs have appeared mysteriously on photographs taken inside people’s homes during festive occasions (weddings/family gatherings), in churches during solemn gatherings (funerals/memorial services), and at many public places and sacred areas.

While some ghost researchers are quick to claim that these orbs are evidence of spirit entities, skeptics are just as quick to claim these orbs as dust particles, droplets of water, or natural electrical emissions.

Gregory Avery has taken photographs professionally since 1696, and since 1998 he has captured thousands of orb images.  Avery says that while images of orbs may be taken by any camera, most of the images that he has captured were taken on digital cameras.  Digital technology allows images to be studied more closely and accurately through computer programs.

“Flash seems to be required to image the orbs whether film or digital techniques are used,” he said, “I know of one exception to this and that is a high-end multiple CCD (charged coupled device) digital video camera that recorded an orb flying through a researcher’s back yard in daylight, and no flash, strobe, or additional lighting was applied.”

In order to exclude the orb images as dust, moisture, raindrops, and so forth, Gregory recommends that the researcher take several rapid flash pictures back to back. If the orbs are the result of these above-mentioned natural elements, the first photo may reveal many apparently unexplained objects floating in the air, but there will be fewer in the second shot, and quite likely none in the third shot.

“True orbs, for whatever reason, dart away during the flash,” Gregory states. “The flash overcharges them, reveals them, or affects them in ways that remain unclear, but they will move in different directions at high speeds, considering the shutter speed of a flash.”

 Gregory states that the lens of his camera is always cleaned between images to guard against any elements of rain, fog, dust or other materials affecting the photograph in any way.  He has conducted numerous tests to determine whether or not an orb is a genuine anomaly as opposed to a photographic, atmospheric, or optical effect.

“Dust was thrown in the air,” he explained. “Water was sprayed into the air. We acquired an artificial fog machine and photographed the plume. My fiancée Christine even blew bubbles into the air.  All of these tests, and more, were conducted in order to produce those characteristics found in the true orb’s appearance, color, and geometry.   We have been unable to duplicate the orb appearance or capture the astounding geometrical precision the genuine orbs have demonstrated (similar to those intricately woven and precise crop circles).
